In June 2016, Dr. Marie-Helene Saint-Hilaire, MD, FRCPC, FAAN, was appointed Chief of Neurology at Boston Medical Center and Chair of the Department of Neurology at Boston University School of Medicine ad interim
Dr. Saint-Hilaire received her MD from the Universite de Montreal. She completed her neurology residency at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), followed by a three-year fellowship (one year each) in Paris at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and at Boston University.
Dr. Saint-Hilaire directs the Boston Medical Center's Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center and the American Parkinson Disease Association Advanced Center for Parkinson Research at Boston University School of Medicine.
She is an expert on the diagnosis and management of neurological movement disorders, and on improving the quality of life of Parkinson’s Disease patients and their families. Dr. Saint-Hilaire's research focus is new therapies to treat symptoms and complications and modify disease progression and to determine environmental and genetic causes of Parkinson’s Disease.
Dr. Saint-Hilaire has participated in more than 100 research trials and has written more than 100 articles and book chapters and frequently collaborates with other disciplines to design and implement clinical trials.
