From the President of the AUPN

Dear AUPN Members,

I am excited to announce AUPN’s new strategic plan, designed to guide and support AUPN’s role of fostering the development of academic neurology’s educational, research and patient care programs.

The strategic plan was the result of a yearlong process, and developed by a diverse mix of AUPN members (Chairs, Program/Clerkship Directors, and Child Neurology Directors) and approved by the AUPN Council. This plan has refined AUPN’s Mission and Vision to guide AUPN’s future direction and activities as well as for the near term, laying out more specifically three overarching goals and specific objectives which have been prioritized for the next three years, which have been identified as essential core activities for AUPN.

Guided by the Strategic Plan, our efforts will focus on:

  • Foster the development of academic neurology’s educational, research and patient care programs
  • Support Chairs through educational offerings geared toward the leaders in academic neurology
  • Serve as a forum for the Chairs of Neurology to discuss academic interests and challenges

The dedication of the Strategic Planning Committee is to be commended for their work and the final product.

In moving this agenda forward, AUPN will continue to need your help. We will need talented, committed people from diverse backgrounds. We will require deep partnerships with others who share our vision. Implementation teams have been formed around each goal, and you will have an opportunity to contribute your passion and creativity to helping us realize them.

Now more than ever, leadership in the sciences is critical. Aligned in a common vision and committed to a shared strategy, with your participation, AUPN is well-positioned to deliver.

Thank you for your continued dedication and collaboration as we further our mission to advance and strengthen the academic Neurology community through education, mentorship and the sharing of best practices among leaders in academic neurology.
