University of Pennsylvania: Assistant Professor, CE, Epilepsy Outcomes, Epidemiology and Quality
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Neurology with a focus on epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology and outcomes, quality and epidemiology, and will have fellowship training and experience in these fields. The successful candidate must be skilled in the acute and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, electrocorticography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG and thermal laser ablation. It is also expected that the successful applicant have at least one year's formal training and a master’s degree in epidemiology, quality and outcomes research, with experience and a track record of publication applying this background to epilepsy. Responsibilities include approximately 50% translational research, in addition to clinical care and teaching. The position requires teaching medical students, residents, fellows and trainees at all levels, both in research and clinical neurology and epileptology. After a startup period of 3 years, it is expected that the applicant will secure grant, philanthropic or industry funding to cover committed research time. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board-eligible or Board-certified.
