Dr. Ingo Mellinghoff Chair at MSK; Winter Chair Programs; Teaching Millennials…

The Voice of Academic Neurology's Leaders

I am most pleased to welcome Ingo Mellinghoff MD to the AUPN as the newly appointed Chair of Neurology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). He follows Dr. Lisa DeAngelis, who was appointed Physician-in-Chief at MSK.  Dr. Mellinghoff has been at MSK since 2007, and previously served as Chief of the Brain Tumor Service and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Neurology, as well as Professor of Neurology and Professor of Neuroscience in the Brain and Mind Research Institute at Weill Cornell Medical College.  He completed residency training in internal medicine, fellowship training in oncology, and scientific training in molecular biology at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Mellinghoff is a renowned physician-scientist, whose research focuses on the characterization of altered signaling pathways in primary brain tumors, particularly those in glioblastoma, gliomas and CNS lymphomas.  His translational research focuses on early phase clinical trials with novel drugs targeting these pathways in humans and animal models

He has had a distinguished career and has been recognized with many awards.  He is the recipient of an NIH Outstanding Investigator Award, the Sontag Foundation Distinguished Scientist Award, and the Advanced Clinical Research Award in Glioma from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is an elected member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Neuro-Oncology and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Mellinghoff and welcoming him to the AUPN.
