Leadership Minute
This month’s leadership minute is entitled “How to fund the education mission with limited GME office support”, presented by Claire Henchcliffe, MD; University of California – Irvine and moderated by Tracey A. Milligan, MD; New York Medical College. This is an important concern for all of us who train residents and fellows. Graduate Medical Education (GME) funding often falls short of what is essential or optimal in neurology education, affecting trainees, program leadership and educators. This presentation will explore approaches to “stopping the squeeze”, allowing us to continue to enhance educational efforts, support our next wave of neurologists and clinical neuroscientists, and mitigate burnout and dropout.

Leading Edge Podcast
The Podcast which is profiled this month is entitled “Integrating remote work in clinical neurology”. It is presented by Amtul Farheen, MD; Lebanon VA Medical Center; UPMC and moderated by Tracey A. Milligan, MD; New York Medical College. Telemedicine is now mainstream in most disciplines. Telestroke is widely used and Teleneurology use has expanded, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, creating more opportunities for remote work. This podcast opens up a discussion related to opportunities and challenges while integrating remote work in clinical neurology.
