Course Description
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to change how we envision neurology education for medical students. We were forced to adapt new teaching strategies, new learning strategies, new assessment strategies, all in the blink of an eye. All of this was done in the setting of altered expectations and a very high stress environment. This course will review some of the new ways we have adapted to teaching and assessing virtually by highlighting some best practices and innovative approaches.  We will also consider which of these new strategies may be helpful to use on an ongoing basis, long after the COVID pandemic.  We will discuss how teaching and learning expectations may need to be modified based on learner burnout.

Learning Objectives
1 - Discuss which aspects of neurology are better suited to in-person learning versus virtual learning.
2 - Review some best practices for virtual teaching and learning, including synchronous vs asynchronous learning.
3 - Review some best practices for virtual assessments and be able to modify these ideas for individual clerkships.
4 - Understand and discuss ways that learner burnout might modify our teaching/learning/assessment expectations and strategies.
