Stratton VA: Staff Neurologist

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Full-time Staff Neurologist at our Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center - Albany.  The Neurologist position will encompass the breadth of clinical care, including inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic and clinical procedures (EEG, EMG, Botox).  In addition to the clinical duties, the SVAMC Neurology Section of the Medicine Service Line is closely integrated with the Department of Neurology at the Albany Medical College (AMC). The faculty at SVAMC also have academic appointments at AMC. The applicant, if deciding to join the SVAMC, would apply for the faculty position once on board at SVAMC. The Faculty of SVAMC are integrally involved in teaching and research activities.

Salary: $200,000- $282,480

Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay)

Basic Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Board Certification/Eligible in the specialty/sub-specialty indicated in the announcement.
