Course Description
This course will provide an interactive discussion of topics that are relevant to Neurology education and training.  Specifically, the course will cover the following:

  1. The ACGME Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER): Challenges and Opportunities (Dr. Fischer)
  2. Creating and maintaining diversity and inclusion in GME training programs (Dr. Gutierrez)
  3. Update on ACGME effort (FTE) requirements for Program Directors and Coordinators (Dr. Schuyler and Dr. Copeland)
  4. Update on Neurology fellowship application timelines and processes (Dr. Schuyler, Dr. Copeland, and Dr. Gutierrez)

Learning Objectives

  1. To know and understand CLER and its mission to enhance training and patient care
  2. To understand why diversity and inclusion are important for GME and patient care
  3. To know the new ACGME effort requirements for Program Directors and Coordinators.
  4. To know about Neurology fellowship application processes
