McGovern Medical School at UTHealth: Assistant Professor, Neurology - Stroke Outpatient

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston (, Department of Neurology (, is seeking a full-time, fellowship trained vascular neurologist at the Assistant Professor level, non-tenure clinical track. This position will provide clinical outpatient care and participate in educational programs with research opportunities. This position is affiliated with McGovern Medical School, the 6th largest medical school in the nation with a robust Neurology Residency program and large Vascular Neurology Training program with 7 fellows per year.

Clinical responsibilities would include up to 4.5 days of clinic a week. Teaching opportunities are available. Support including protected time is available for administrative oversight of the outpatient stroke clinic.


  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited neurology residency
  • Completed vascular neurology fellowship
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the ABPN with fellowship training or equivalent experience working in Outpatient Clinical Management of Stroke Patients 
  • Active board-certifications
  • Licensed in the State of Texas (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Outstanding clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
