Leadership Minute
This month’s AUPN Leadership Minute covers a topic of critical importance to all chairs: “Leadership to Effect Change,” presented by Gabriele C. De Luca, Professor of Clinical Neurology and Experimental Neuropathology at the University of Oxford and introduced by Don Higgins (Albany/Stratton VA). How can we as leaders change the behavior of those in our departments to enable them and our departments to prosper? To effect change, a leader must be a steward of constants while being a pathfinder for change. A leader who knows their values and purpose is well positioned to establish direction in the face of uncertainty, to influence others for the common good and inspire the people they direct to greater achievement.

Sacco Chair Summit
The Chair Summit at the Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel on December 11-12, 2022, sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology and now named for its originator, Ralph Sacco (Univ. of Miami), appears to have been a roaring success, though unfortunately this writer was unable to attend due to COVID. Hopefully this was the first of many such collaborations between the AUPN, the AAN and the ANA.
