AUPN first-ever Podcast, Fall Meeting news and more

The Voice of Academic Neurology's Leaders

This week marked the debut of the first-ever AUPN Podcast, produced in partnership with the American Neurological Association, which features my interview with Dr. Justin McArthur, the John D. Griffin Professor & Chair of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University, and current President of the ANA.  The program focuses on the current state of academic departments, as well as strategies for recovery across all mission areas during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This special edition podcast can be accessed on the “ANA Investigates” website at https://myana.org/education/ana-investigates-podcast-series

This is the first of our new series of AUPN podcasts, and if you are interested in helping us with the podcast initiative, I encourage you to email Katie at neuro@aupn.org to join our growing AUPN Podcast Committee.

Our own virtual fall meeting plans are progressing well, and our meeting will be held (as it always has been when in-person) in conjunction with the ANA virtual fall meeting in October. The ANA has announced that registration for its meeting will be free for ANA members, and it has extended the abstract submission deadline to June 3rd for its virtual poster sessions (Abstract submission at https://2020.myana.org/late-breaking-and-extended-abstract-submission; ANA meeting registration opens June 15 at 2020.myana.org).  We will be providing detailed information regarding the AUPN virtual fall meeting sessions soon.

The AUPN continues to refine our digital member resources.  Each Saturday Newsletter presents a selected group of Resource Links (see below), and these links are aggregated on the AUPN Website at aupn.org This week, we add a link to the NIH information for applicants and grant recipients during the pandemic.  The website also includes a number of other offerings, such as the AUPN Membership Directory, listing email, phone and address information for all Member Chairs, Child Neurology Directors, Program Directors and Clerkship Directors (membership required for access).  The website also offers a number of additional resources which are in the process of being expanded, with more to come on that in future newsletters.
